Verbs (Non-past)
(Non-past)
JLPT N5
Pattern
Verb (dictionary / ます form)
How it works
Japanese has no separate future tense. The non-past form (食べる / 食べます) covers habits, general facts and future plans. Time words show which one is meant.
Examples
- まいにち 7時に おきます。I get up at 7 every day.
- らいしゅう 京都へ 行きます。I'll go to Kyoto next week.
