How it works

って is the casual version of と for quoting: 田中さん、来るって (Tanaka says he's coming). It can also mean “I heard that…” or introduce a topic: 東京って大きいね.

Examples

  • 田中さん、あした 来るって。Tanaka says he's coming tomorrow.
  • あの 店、おいしいって。I hear that place is good.
