が・の (Subject)
Particle Swapping
JLPT N5
Pattern
[Noun + が/の + predicate] + Noun
How it works
Inside a clause that describes a noun, the subject takes が or の, never は: 日本語がかんたんな本, or 日本語のかんたんな本. Both mean “a book whose Japanese is easy”.
Examples
- 日本語が かんたんな 本を さがして います。I'm looking for a book with easy Japanese.
- 母の 作った りょうりは おいしいです。The food my mother makes is delicious.
