る-Verb (Dictionary)
る + ます (Ichidan Verbs)
JLPT N5
Pattern
る-verb: 食べる → 食べます
How it works
る-verbs (ichidan verbs) end in -iru or -eru. To conjugate, drop る and add the ending: 食べる → 食べます, 食べない, 食べて. Some -iru/-eru verbs are actually う-verbs, such as 帰る and 入る.
Examples
- まいあさ パンを 食べる。I eat bread every morning.
- テレビを 見ます。I watch TV.
