Plain form + の？

How it works

In casual speech, の with rising intonation asks a question seeking an explanation: どこに行くの？ (Where are you going?). It is the casual form of んですか. After nouns and な-adjectives, use なの.

Examples

  • どこに 行くの？Where are you going?
  • どうしたの？What's wrong?
