あの (That (over there))
That (over there)
JLPT N5
Pattern
あの + Noun
How it works
あの means “that … over there” before a noun. It also points to something both people remember: あの店 (that shop we know). Without a noun, use あれ.
Examples
- あの 人は 先生です。That person over there is a teacher.
- あの 店で 買いました。I bought it at that shop.
