い-adjective: ～い → ～かった
How it works
To put an い-adjective in the past, replace い with かった: たのしい → たのしかった. Add です to be polite: たのしかったです. Never say たのしいでした. いい becomes よかった.
Examples
- りょこうは たのしかったです。The trip was fun.
- きのうは さむかった。It was cold yesterday.
