の (Verb nominalizer)
Verb nominalizer, The one who..., That which...
JLPT N5
Pattern
Verb (plain form) + の
How it works
の after a plain verb turns the action into a noun, so it can take particles: 見るのがすき (I like watching), 書くのはむずかしい (Writing is hard).
Examples
- 本を 読むのが すきです。I like reading books.
- 漢字を 書くのは むずかしいです。Writing kanji is difficult.
