のがじょうず (To be good at)
To be good at, Proficient
JLPT N5
Pattern
Verb (dictionary form) + のがじょうず
How it works
じょうず is a な-adjective meaning “good at”. With a verb, add のが: およぐのがじょうず. With a noun, use が: テニスがじょうず. It's used to praise others; about yourself, とくい sounds more modest.
Examples
- 山田さんは およぐのが じょうずです。Mr. Yamada is good at swimming.
- りょうりを 作るのが じょうずですね。You're good at cooking!
