How it works

の after an adjective stands for a noun already understood: “the ~ one”. あかいのをください means “the red one, please”. な-adjectives keep な: しずかなの.

Examples

  • あかいのを ください。The red one, please.
  • もっと 安いのは ありますか。Do you have a cheaper one?
