Person + に + Thing + を + あげる
How it works
あげる means “give” when the gift moves away from the speaker (or from someone to someone else). The receiver takes に. If someone gives something to you, use くれる instead.
Examples
- 友だちに プレゼントを あげました。I gave my friend a present.
- 妹に 本を あげます。I'll give my sister a book.
