Pattern

Person + が + (わたしに) + Thing + を + くれる

How it works

くれる means “give” when the gift comes to the speaker or their family. The giver is the subject; わたしに is often left out because くれる already implies it.

Examples

母がこのとけいをくれました。My mother gave me this watch.
友だちが弟におかしをくれました。My friend gave my little brother some sweets.
