Person + と + Verb

How it works

と after a person means “with”: doing something together with them. いっしょに is often added (友だちといっしょに). For actions that need a partner, like 話す or けっこんする, と marks the other person.

Examples

  • 友だちと えいがを 見ました。I watched a movie with a friend.
  • 先生と 話しました。I talked with the teacher.
