と (And)
And
JLPT N5
Pattern
Noun A + と + Noun B
How it works
と joins nouns into a complete list: “A and B (and nothing else)”. Compare や, which gives only examples. と joins nouns only; to link verbs or adjectives use the て-form.
Examples
- 弟と 妹が います。I have a younger brother and a younger sister.
- パンと たまごを 買いました。I bought bread and eggs.
