Quantity + ぐらい / くらい
How it works
ぐらい (or くらい) after an amount means “about”. For a point in time use ごろ instead: 3時ごろ (at around 3), but 3時間ぐらい (about 3 hours).
Examples
- 駅まで タクシーで 1000円ぐらいです。It's about ¥1,000 by taxi to the station.
- まいにち 2時間ぐらい べんきょうします。I study about two hours every day.
