命令形 ((Verb)!)
(Verb)!, Do (something)!
JLPT N4
Pattern
Verb (imperative form)
How it works
The imperative is a blunt command. う-verbs change to the -e sound (行け); る-verbs change る to ろ (食べろ); する → しろ, 来る → こい. It's used in emergencies, sports cheering and signs, and sounds rude in normal conversation.
Examples
- がんばれ!Go for it!
- あぶない! にげろ!Look out! Run!
