Verb + て+ B (And)
And, And then, After that (sequence)
JLPT N5
Pattern
Verb A (て-form) + Verb B
How it works
Chaining verbs with the て-form shows a sequence: A happens, then B. You can link several in a row. Use てから when you want to stress that B only happens after A is finished.
Examples
- うちへ 帰って、ばんごはんを 食べて、ねました。I went home, ate dinner and went to bed.
- かぎを かけて、出かけました。I locked the door and went out.
