Noun / な-adjective + でした

How it works

でした is the past of です and だった is the past of だ. Use them after nouns and な-adjectives. い-adjectives change their own ending instead: さむかったです, not さむいでした.

Examples

  • きのうは 雨でした。It was rainy yesterday.
  • ここまでは かんたんでした。It was easy up to here.
