Verb (ます-stem) + おわる

How it works

ます-stem + おわる means “finish doing”: 読みおわる (finish reading). On its own, おわる means “to end”: じゅぎょうがおわる.

Examples

この本を読みおわりました。I finished reading this book.
食べおわったら、さらをあらってください。When you've finished eating, please wash the dishes.
