A + より + B + のほうが + adjective
How it works
より marks what you compare against: “than”. AよりBのほうが～ means “B is more ~ than A”. You can also use just より: 母は父より5さいわかい (Mum is 5 years younger than Dad).
Examples
- バスより 電車の ほうが はやいです。The train is faster than the bus.
- 母は 父より 5さい わかいです。My mother is five years younger than my father.
