Plain form + と聞いた

How it works

と聞いた means “I heard that ~”, reporting information you got from someone else. The source takes に or から: 先生から～と聞いた.

Examples

  • あの 店は おいしいと 聞きました。I heard that place is good.
  • 田中さんから あした テストが あると 聞いた。I heard from Tanaka that there's a test tomorrow.
