Plain form + といい

How it works

といい expresses a hope (“I hope ~”) or gives advice (“you should ~”). といいですね wishes something good for the listener: はれるといいですね (I hope it's sunny).

Examples

  • あした はれると いいですね。I hope it's sunny tomorrow.
  • わからない ときは、先生に 聞くと いいですよ。When you don't understand, you should ask the teacher.
