Verb (て-form) + いるところだ
How it works
ているところだ means “right in the middle of doing ~”: the action is in progress at this very moment. It's more specific than ている alone.
Examples
- 今 ばんごはんを 作って いる ところです。I'm making dinner right now.
- その ことは 今 考えて いる ところです。I'm thinking about that right now.
