お + Verb (ます-stem) + になる

How it works

お + ます-stem + になる is the honorific form of a verb, raising the other person's action: お帰りになる (return), お待ちになる (wait). It isn't used for your own actions.

Examples

  • 社長は もう お帰りに なりました。The president has already gone home.
  • この 本を お読みに なりましたか。Have you read this book?
