てくれない・てもらえない (Won't you?)
Won't you?, Will you?, Could you?, Can you?, Would you?
JLPT N4
Pattern
Verb (て-form) + くれない? / もらえない?
How it works
てくれない? and てもらえない? are casual, softer requests: “could you ~?”. Asking in the negative leaves room to refuse. Polite: てくれませんか / てもらえませんか.
Examples
- ちょっと 手伝って くれない?Could you help me for a sec?
- この 漢字を 読んで もらえませんか。Could you read this kanji for me?
