Plain form + かい
How it works
かい at the end of a plain sentence is a casual question marker, used mainly by men or when speaking warmly to children. It's for yes/no questions; だい is used with question words.
Examples
- 元気かい？How are you doing?
- もう 宿題は おわったかい？Have you finished your homework yet?
