How it works
と言われている means “it is said that ~ / is known as”: reporting what people commonly say.
Examples
- 富士山は 日本で いちばん 美しい 山だと 言われて います。Mount Fuji is said to be the most beautiful mountain in Japan.
- この 水を 飲むと 長生き すると 言われて いる。It's said that drinking this water helps you live long.
