Question word … + か + rest of sentence

How it works

A question ending in か can be placed inside a larger sentence: 何時に来るかわかりません (I don't know what time they'll come). For yes/no questions, use かどうか.

Examples

  • かれが 何時に 来るか わかりません。I don't know what time he's coming.
  • どこで 会うか 決めましょう。Let's decide where to meet.
