Verb (ます-stem) + かた
How it works
ます-stem + かた means “way of doing”: 書きかた (how to write). It makes a noun, so the object takes の instead of を: 漢字の書きかた.
Examples
- この 漢字の 読みかたを おしえて ください。Please tell me how to read this kanji.
- 駅への 行きかたが わかりません。I don't know how to get to the station.
