でも (Or something)
Or something, Any... (with question words), No matter (who)
JLPT N4
Pattern
Question word + でも
How it works
でも after a question word means “any-” or “no matter”: だれでも (anyone), いつでも (any time), 何でも (anything). After a noun it softens a suggestion: お茶でも飲みませんか (how about some tea or something?).
Examples
- いつでも 電話して ください。Call me any time.
- お茶でも 飲みませんか。How about some tea or something?
