How it works

ても means “even if / even though”: the result doesn't change despite the condition. い-adjectives use くても, nouns and な-adjectives use でも.

Examples

雨がふっても、行きます。I'll go even if it rains.
両親に反対されても、東京で勉強するつもりです。Even if my parents object, I plan to study in Tokyo.
