How it works

も after a number stresses that the amount is large: 三時間もまった (I waited a whole three hours). With a negative and 一, it means “not even one”: 一人も来なかった.

Examples

駅で一時間も待ちました。I waited a whole hour at the station.
パーティーに一人も来なかった。Not a single person came to the party.
